Zender v3.3

We are very excited to release this new version of zender. In this release, we have moved the WhatsApp feature to stable. This WhatsApp has added support for media messages and other types. It also now requires self-hosting of the WhatsApp server binary.

We are really thankful to our customers who kept on supporting us during the past few months. It was really tough for us because of the multiple financial issues we had due to fraudulent sponsors.

This update also includes a campaign management system. When you send bulk messages via SMS or WhatsApp, a campaign log is created on a separate page. The campaign can be paused, resumed, and deleted. More plans for the improvement of these features are currently on the way.

We have also updated the gateway app. The FCM part is now more optimized and faster than ever. 

It is also now possible to limit the message sending of the devices per day or month. This can be modified when you edit the device. The ability to link a device to multiple user accounts was also removed because it was causing critical issues with the partner system.


The zender plugins are now updated to support v3 of zender. For the Perfex and WooCommerce plugins, we added the WhatsApp capability. A plugin for Rise CRM will also be released in the coming weeks or sooner.

We have also created a tracking system for our customers. On this tracker, you will be able to see our progress in developing Zender. We hope this will reduce the anxiety caused by our sudden silence when updating Zender. To access the tracker, please click the "DevTracker" button in the sidebar of the support forums.

Migration files for v2 to v3 are now available. Please follow the migration instructions in the official documentation.

    So I updated, and it seemed successful, after taking care of the language updates manually. Thanks for all your hard work and improving this script!

    So I went back to my scheduled messages because part of the upgrades affected scheduled messages. I had scheduled messages that had to be repeated yearly. The instruction was to put 365 to repeat at same year/month/day/time. When I did that and hit SAVE, the values changed to 127... All my scheduled messages that repeated yearly (on different dates) defaulted to the same 127 days once saved. Is it supposed to do that?

    Question before Migration v2-v3:

    1. What happen to my user data their contacts, api, device, schedule message etc. after migration?

    After updating to 3.3, I observe two problems:

    1. WA accounts are not saved on the site after scanning the QR code. In the application on the phone, you can see that the session is being created. But it doesn't show up on the site. All settings are correct according to the instructions.

    2. APK application for android constantly asks to update to the latest version. Made a new assembly with a new version of the application. But when installed on the phone, the application asks for an update again. Re-updating does not solve the problem.

    Why did you install this online chat? It is impossible to communicate through it. Messages are deleted after a while.

      1. This is only isolated in your case because curl cannot connect to the server where your zender is installed.

      2. As we have said in the chat, please change the apk version to 1 then rebuild the apk.

      The chat will only reset if your IP is changing.

        1. The problem with adding an account was solved. It was necessary to register the IP address and domain of the service in the etc/hosts file - 100.200.60.204 site.com

    Aside from WhatsApp, I noticed these issues after updating existing installation of v3.1.2 to v3.3:

    (1) I can no longer receive SMS messages in the dashboard. I can only send messages. Before the upgrade, I was receiving messages from my devices without problem.

    (2) Keyword auto-reply stopped working on all registered devices.

    (3) Scheduled messages keeps defaulting to 127 days even when I want them to repeat by setting them for 365 (per instructions)

    (4) Searching for contacts just freezes. The magnifying glass just keeps rotating without displaying any search results

    These are just some of what I've discovered so far. Any idea on what may be causing these?

    I was previously on PHP 7.4 before the upgrade. I switched to PHP 8.1 -- but that didn't resolve any of those issues.

            PHP version 8.1 currently

            I can go lower if that fixes it. But as I mentioned previously, I was in 7.4 when I initially upgraded. But the other day, I switched to PHP 8.1 to see if that would fix the issues but it didn't.

              Hi, sorry for the late reply. We found the problem why you can't receive messages. It's because of deprecation error on php 8.1. For a temporary fix, please downgrade to php 7.4 at the moment. A permanent fix for the issue will be applied in the next version.

                    Here are the test results after making the changes you have specified on device.php file:

                    Receiving: working on PHP 7.4

                    Receiving: did NOT work on PHP 8.1

                    ** However, it did work on PHP 8.0 **

                    The most stable though has been on PHP 7.4 for me. The other versions caused me problems with other functions: example, searching my Contact list. I don't know why I can't search the contacts in the database using the other PHP versions

    Thank you for the nice & long waited update!

    I updated to v3.3, rebuilt the app and installed the WhatsApp Linux script (all on the same VPS). All working fine so far.

    But when I close the terminal window (PuTTY) the WhatsApp server became not reachable anymore. How to solve this problem?

      Hi, you can install the WhatsApp server if your cPanel has SSH access but we don't really recommend cPanel shared hosting for it. 

      You can keep zender installed in that cPanel then get a separate VPS for the WhatsApp server, you can also run the WhatsApp server at home if you have a pc that runs 24/7.

              We added that feature because several customers reported that their purchase codes were hacked. To disallow hackers from making use of the purchase codes, the customer can specify the domains that can use the app builder in those settings, which will make the code useless for the hackers.

              You can run the WhatsApp server anywhere and an unlimited number of times. We just mentioned that a single WhatsApp server can be used for multiple sites, so you can save server resources.

      Hi, we don't really recommend using cPanel for hosting the WhatsApp server. We recommend getting a separate VPS for it.

      PHP.ini and immunify are not needed by the WhatsApp server.

    Let me explain to you in detail,
    I have setup my WhatsApp server on a VPS running ubuntu 20.04 ,

    I have 2 websites

    1 is hosted on hostinger asia server and everything is working without any hiccups.

    2 is hosted on cpanel , I am having issues in whatsapp (unable to reach whatsapp server error is shown)
    but the same whatsapp server is working fine in hostinger.


    just wanted to know if you have any fixes for this

    After the update, Zender is not sending WhatsApp messages anymore... The messages is sending, but is not been received by the customers because of the peer-to-peer security issues.

    The message is going to The cell phone whatsApp, but there is a "security problems" and WhatsApp is not allowing to send the message correctly... The WhatsApp message says that the "security code changed".

      This might be an issue with your shared hosting server. It might not be allowing editing files on terminal or there might be network restrictions in effect. We actually don't recommend running the WhatsApp server on shared hosting because of these issues, and the hosting provider will likely ban your account because of long-running terminal apps.

        Hi Norielle,

        Do you have any more punctual guesses than I could check on this server of mine, to try to get around the problem? Like, which file should review permissions? As you may have seen in the answer to my other problem, I don't have $$ to hire a VPS at the moment. It would be very interesting if I could make it work on the shared server, since my message volume is low.

        Even about CRON, if you know how to start the process on the default Cron Job screen in CPanel.

    I use a shared server to run Zender... My zender is running in HOST GATOR. I found that is possible to allow SSH in Host Gator and I even could install and run the whatsapp server.

    In the documentation there is the information --> On some servers, there are instances where it automatically kills terminal apps such as these binaries. For that, you can follow this guide to keep the binary running.

    I need help to make this setup about "Always Running" server script in the CPANEL regular CRON JOBS screen. In the documentation there is just a "manual way" to setup this.

      Hi, shared hosting environments have limited permissions. Creating a custom script will likely not work. Also, cronjobs in cPanel will only work depending on the restrictions imposed by the hosting provider. If you want to start a serious business with Zender, we really recommend getting your own VPS. It has freedom and is usually cheaper than shared hosting.

        Hi Norielle,

        I don't intend to start a serious business with Zender... I use Zender only for my "Access Control System" to send WhatsApp notifications to my System customers (residents and visitors of condominiums).

        Since I don't get any revenue selling Gateway Services, I wasn't planning on paying a VPS just to run that service.

        By any chance, would you allow me to use your WhatsApp Server for the next few days until I find a way to solve these problems of mine? My Clients haven't received any notifications for many days (arrival of parcels at the condo and others), and all my efforts are not working well to find a way to solve the problems without pressure, as these notifications are important to them.

    I still without the WhasApp Service running with Zender...

    1) The WhatsApp Server Service (./titansys-whatsapp-linux --pcode="bc5c6..." --host="45.x.x.x") is running in a server not shared (temporary);

    2) I can confirm this because if I write in browser the URL http://45.x.x.x:7001/ I get the return: {"status":200,"message":false,"data":false} 

    3) I have saved the server IP and the Port in Zender System Settings.


    4) BUT, when I try to Add a WhatsApp Account in Zender interface, is not working.

    PLEASE, I need help to make my whatsapp sender runs well...

    Because the Service was not running well in HostGator, and because the Service was not running well in the dedicated server od my friend, I create an account in DigitalOcean....

    I am trying to Start a WhatsApp Server in one DigitalOcean server... looks like the Service is running on 7001 Port, but when I try to test by http, there is no service running.

    I don´t know more what to do to just have my WhatsApp Gateway run again!!!!

      Hi, moving zender to another server is not covered by the documentation. You will have to do it yourself. You don't have to change anything, just make sure your database name and password will be the same.

      You need to use a service forwarder to expose your WA server to the internet. You can use ngrok but it's a bit complicated to setup. 

      In the next version, we included a built-in support for ngrok, you can wait for the release.
